Post, keep, and repeat…

Let’s not pretend that insecurity isn’t a thing. Social media has made us believe that if we post enough pictures, gather approval from strangers, and surround ourselves with the trendiest items, we’ll somehow feel confident. And sure, those fleeting boosts can temporarily inflate your ego, but real, unshakeable confidence? That’s a slow trudge up a steep hill of self-discovery. Sometimes, it takes a little isolation to really connect with who we are, to understand what we genuinely love about ourselves, without the noise of outside opinions.

But let’s save the deep psychological insight for another day! Today’s about feeling photo-ready, even when you’re not exactly feeling camera-ready. And for those moments when you just need a little extra something to feel like you’re glowing from within, I’ve got a few go-to’s that always make me feel like a nice, warm cup of espresso—because let’s be real, who doesn’t want to radiate that kind of energy?

Cue Sabrina Carpenter (Thanks to my sister for putting me on to this gem.)

Fake It Till You Make It: My Skin Story

My skin isn’t perfect…yet! But while I keep striving toward my personal skin goals, I’ve learned the art of a little assist. I start with a dime to quarter-size amount of foundation—just enough to even out my skin tone and blur the lines of reality a bit. I’m all about ease, so a sponge it is; it’s the simplest tool to handle and clean—don’t judge me!

Currently, my go-to liquid foundation is Lancôme. It’s got SPF, which is a must for protecting those hyperpigmentation spots from the sun, while also giving me that smooth, even tone I’m after. The best part? The coverage is buildable, so whether you want a light touch or a full glam, you’re set. Personally, I lean towards a natural look for everyday—like my skin, but just a tad more refined.

Strawberry Dreams: Embracing the Trends That Work for You

I’ve really been loving the strawberry trend—it just works for me! There’s something about that warm, slightly flushed look that makes me feel like I’ve just stepped out of a fairy tale. To get there, I take a touch of blush, dab it on my cheeks, and give my nose a little tap. Once it sets, I feel all kinds of romantic, like I’m ready to take on the world with a soft, rosy glow.

The Power of Mascara: A Simple Essential

Next up: mascara, because it’s a necessity! Now, I’m not usually a waterproof girl—it’s harder than cement to remove, and I’m all about easy. But lately, I’ve been using Lancôme’s waterproof mascara, because, well, I haven’t found a new match yet. It gets the job done, and for now, that’s good enough for me.

Camera: iPhone 12 Pro Max. Don’t judge me. Also, please excuse the warm/dim light, it’s what I live in.

This routine isn’t about transforming myself into someone else; it’s about enhancing what’s already there. It’s about feeling a little more prepared to face the world, while still feeling like me. Whether you’re into full glam or no glam, the goal is to feel so amazing that you can conquer your goals without hesitation and affirm yourself without relying on outside validation. Whatever makes you feel like your best self—do that. And do it boldly.

So, post, keep, and repeat—because at the end of the day, confidence is about feeling good in your own skin, whatever that looks like for you.
