Pause…

I’m not a ghost. Promise. Just a girl with a loaded calendar and a stack of high-priority obligations. I know my regular schedule’s been a little out of whack lately—like, picture a toddler trying to walk in heels—but let’s just say my plate’s been full. Content will continue as usual this Friday with The Descend Chapter 3, Part 2. Pinky swear.

So, I’ve had some high-visibility tasks that needed more attention than I thought they would—turns out, “just a quick project” is a mythical creature, like unicorns or inbox zero. And honestly, I’m not even mad about it. But I’ll admit it, I’m hitting that sweet spot of burnout, you know, the one that feels like someone keeps adding just one more thing to your Jenga tower of responsibilities.

But don’t worry. I’m actually taking my own advice (for once) and giving myself a little grace. Shocking, I know.

Physically, my body is in beast mode, so I’m keeping up with the grind. Mentally? Well, let’s just say my brain has turned into that one friend who insists on jumping from topic to topic without catching a breath. One minute I’m focused, the next, I’m lost in some deep rabbit hole about why cucumbers taste better pickled (IYKYK). It’s… an experience.

That being said, I’m slowly but surely crawling my way back to motivation. Funny enough, TV has been my unlikely ally in this battle.

I know what you’re thinking—doesn’t that just add to the distraction?

For me, it’s the opposite. I work much better when I can keep my mind engaged. Silence? Not my thing. I need a podcast, YouTube video, audiobook, TV show, movie—something—to keep my mind active. It’s weird, but hey, if it ain’t broke, right?

Lately, my guilty pleasure has been The Gentlemen on Netflix. Picture this: a well-mannered, gangster inspired, drug ridden soirée with enough twists to keep you guessing, plus some dark humor that makes you wonder if you should be laughing… but you do anyway. It’s like the perfect blend of distraction and focus fuel while I patiently wait for season 2 of Supacell. Note to Rapman: please don’t make us wait 3 years for season 2. My anxiety can’t handle it.

By the way, did you know that taking regular mental breaks can boost productivity by 31%? It’s almost like the experts are saying, “Hey, binge that show—it’s good for your brain!” And who am I to argue with science?

Anyway, thanks for bearing with me through my mini hiatus. Now, let’s get back to it, shall we? I’ll see you Friday.
